One good resource for learning German is Duolingo. The downside of Duolingo is that you will end up, probably, at the A2 level when you finish the Duolingo's course. MyGermanDictionary was created to support the German language learning process well beyond the basic level.
Most of the content available in the list that follows is provided by Deutsche Welle. They have a lot of content available for German students at different levels on this site.
The most famous content for learning German is Deutsche Welle's "Nico's weg". This is a video material that is used at A1 (absolute beginner), A2 and B1 levels. I strongly recommend that you check out these videos. I believe that the material is excellently prepared, and the videos will guide you through basic vocabulary. The movie plot is not super exciting, but it is very good considering that the purpose of these videos is educational.
My suggestion to you is to learn a little bit about German grammar before you watch these videos, at least some basics. You can use the German language course on this site to help you with that. Lerning some German basics will help you utilize these videos in the best way possible.

This was an excellent TV show for me to learn German. It is entertaining and reminds me a bit of the famous American sitcom Friends.

This is a set of short stories about common German phrases. I like the way it is written.

Another Deutsche Welle's video production. Several foreigners are divided into two groups and compete while traveling through Germany. The participants of the video are foreigners, so their German is not perfect, but I believe this is a valuable material for someone trying to learn German.
